The Simpsons Movie.

I have worked as a background designer on The Simpsons television show on and off for several seasons.

Starting on season 2 and 3 in 1990-1992.

In 2006 I was hired onto The Simpsons Movie as a background designer.

I designed a lot of backgrounds for the movie, but one sequence was all mine. The Itchy and Scratchy sequence.

I designed/stylized, and laid out the entire sequence.

The style for Itchy and Scratchy was always an after thought for The Simpsons. This time they wanted something concrete.

I proposed a cartoony style of my own and it was accepted without comment. FUN!

The art director was Dima Malantichev, I know he painted some of these, but I do not know who painted all of them.

The gist of the sequence is that Itchy and Scratchy are the first people on the moon.

Itchy murders Scratchy on the moon than fakes a heroic escape and return to earth.

Itchy then runs for president, and wins. While lounging in the Oval Office he discovers that Scratchy is alive on the moon.

There then follows a montage of scenes of Itchy deliberating on what to do. These are patterned after some famous photos of JFK during The Cuban Missile Crisis.
